The journey of regulating diabetes with Chinese medicine and moxibustion (Part 3)
Metformin and camel milk: a wonderful combination for diabetes treatment.

It was time for a follow-up examination after more than three months. In fact, there have been some subtle changes in my life in these three months. My mother suddenly fell ill, and I spent more than a month in the hospital with her. During that time, I was in a very heavy mood and had no intention of doing moxibustion. In addition, because of my mother’s illness, I changed the time to see the doctor again and again. In the end, I returned to the United States for less than a week, and I didn’t even adjust to the time difference, and I hurried to the follow-up examination.
The test results came out, and the glycosylated hemoglobin increased from 7.4 to 8.1; the fasting blood sugar value dropped from 174 to 150: cholesterol also increased slightly. When I saw the doctor, I told her about the situation in the past three months, saying that I only took one metformin pill (500mg) a day, and the cholesterol medicine has not changed, also one pill of 10 mg. But the doctor told me seriously that I should increase the amount of metformin. Taking one pill a day is not enough, I have to take four tablets. The cholesterol value does not change much, so the medicine does not need to be adjusted.

After returning home, I fell into deep thought. How much metformin should I take? Two, three or four pills? This made me a little entangled, but I think that under such poor conditions, without moxibustion, and staying in the hospital for more than a month, my fasting blood sugar value has also dropped, which is a good sign, so I decided to take two tablets a day.
By chance, I saw a video in which the nutritionist said that drinking camel milk is helpful for diabetics. He explained why it is helpful. I think what he said makes sense, so I did some research and read some Chinese and English materials. Both Chinese and English materials said that drinking camel milk is good for regulating diabetes. So I decided to give it a try. I drank camel milk for more than three months, twice a day, morning and evening. During these three months, I took two tablets of metformin every day (each tablet has a dose of 500mg) and drank camel milk twice a day.
During these three months, I recorded my blood sugar changes every day. Watching the data improve day by day, for example, for more than two months, the fasting blood sugar value has been maintained between 115 and 125, rarely exceeding 130, and rarely below 100. My heart was full of hope, and finally the day of reexamination came more than three months later. The results showed a relieved smile on my face again. My glycosylated hemoglobin dropped from 8.1 to 7, and my fasting blood sugar dropped from 154 to 124; all blood lipid indicators were normal. The doctor was very happy after seeing the test results. She told me that if you can take four tablets of metformin a day, the glycosylated blood sugar protein and fasting blood sugar values will definitely be better. She also said that your indicators are basically qualified, and you only need to check once a year. I laughed and felt that it was worthwhile to insist on using moxibustion to regulate diabetes.
After returning home, I began to think about whether to reduce metformin to one pill a day? This is a tangled question. After all, the doctor’s advice conflicts with my own ideas. Moxibustion conditioning does make me feel that my body is slowly getting better, but the role of drugs cannot be ignored. What should I do?
